1 large chopped onion
2 Tablespoons oil
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
½ cup water
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
½ teaspoon salt
In a large frying pan over medium heat, cook the onion in the oil until limp. Stir in the rest of the ingredients & simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Makes 2½ cups tomato sauce.
