1 1/2 c. scalded milk
6 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1.4 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp yeast dissolved in 3/4 c water.
Beat egg, add milk, shortening, sugar, salt and 2 c. flour. Beat until smooth. Add yeast & enough flour to make a good roll consistency. Knead until smooth & elastic. Roll out, cut out, place on greased baking sheet & brush with melted butter. Let rise. Bake at 400 for I5 minutes. Brush with melted butter. Makes 3 doz. rolls.
