LEMON NUT BREAD: Submitted by: Sandy Bristow | Date Added: 7 Nov 2009 Ingredients:

3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp softened margarine or butter
2 eggs
2 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp b. powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cooking Instructions:

Cream together sugar and butter till light and fluffy. Add eggs and lemon peel, beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 8x4x2 loaf dish. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and cool completely on wire rack. Wrap loaf, store overnight. Makes 1 loaf.
